y'all come back now ya hear

we just returned from 4 days in texas
we attended a wedding in san antonio along the riverwalk and spent 2 nights in austin

at first i thought i wanted cowboy boots and a cowboy hat
the boots are super expensive, even a banged up pair in a vintage shop was $90
the hats were very urban cowboyish, white and stiff hard plastic-like with a black cord
i like the cheap straw ones
and where am i goin anyway with that look....i live in wallingford

flt to houston was kinda long, then a much shorter flight to san antonio
saw the alamo....uneventful and very touristy and dirty

had a big girl next to me on one flt
her fat came under the arm rest and into my seat
then the tb cough started and the nose sniffling
it was awful but fortunately it was a short flt from austin to houston
obese travelers should be in first class where the big seats are
i'm writing a letter

the wedding was real nice, it was at a b&b on the riverwalk
the bride is one of 9 and 7 of her siblings were there
the groom is pete from lancaster, pete and janet met on eharmony
they had never been to san antonio, picked the destination online
cause that's what they do

we were anticipating warm weather but unfortunately it was 40 cold and damp
makes for a nice river boat ride after dinner
yeah i was cranky and sober which is a whole nother post :) :) :)

i think i have some pictures, i know i have one of eric eating the smoker sampler at the iron works bbq...i got a bag of cheetos
smoker meat grosses me out...eric just bought a smoker

in austin we checked out the bat bridge
world's largest urban bat colony
at dusk people line up on the bridge and watch the bats fly out
i had my ellen tracy cashmere black wrap on so i acted bat like too and it was fun

austin has all kinds of cool taco bars and cupcake campers
eric got a red velvet cream cheese icing cupcake at "hey cupcake" that was delic

we had some good tex mex and saw some live bands on 6th st
