south philly

took my niece cacie to south philly saturday
we strolled up and down the italian market
bought some fruit and veggies
9th street was busy and festive with thanksgiving approaching

we walked down to 9th and passyunk and had cheesesteaks at geno's
the "authentic" philly cheesesteaks are not that great
for $6 you get this roast beef like thick steak with gristle
and cold american cheese
i'm gonna have to say that swarthmore pizza has a better "philly"
cheesesteak

we then went to ikea on columbus blvd and bought some fun things
i'm very excited about my new reading lamp....$9.99
we had $.50 hot dogs that were better than the geno steaks

we ended our day at my place playing scrabble by the fireplace

our next day trip is nyc
cacie has never been so it will be exciting to expose her to the big apple

PinF rules the scrabble board, as his command of words is unequaled within the confines of the square battleground.

BLASPHEMER!!!!! How dare you speak w/ such impudence towards Geno's steaks (if it were Pat's I would understand). Swarthmore Pizza??? IKEA hot dogs????? Better than Geno's??????

Other than that, it sounds like a lovely day w/ your niece.

We're in for the nyc day trip...our cheesesteak vote goes to Phil & Jim's in Aston/Chester-not the best neighborhood, but the best steaks...and u know we love those IKEA dogs "little boy, little boy" :) akjn

You're ALL wrong!! MY cheesesteaks are world famous -- ask anyone who has had one! And, you'll never see wiz on any of my cheesesteaks! Janny
P.S. You're the best aunt ever!
